“I’m particularly looking forward to collaborating with a group of talented professionals who are passionate about driving sustainable solutions. The future growth of the company is immensely promising, and I look forward to playing a role in shaping strategies that will not only expand our market presence but also make a significant positive impact on the environment.
“We have some huge energy challenges ahead in New Zealand as we transition to a more highly renewable electricity system. Through this transition, we need to support the electrification and growth of high-electricity demand industries like datacentres, while continuing to deliver secure, affordable electricity. What excites me most is that New Zealand is better placed than most to deliver, with our access to abundant natural resources and our innovative mindset. This gives us an opportunity to become global leaders in renewable energy.”
“Lauren’s experience in the renewable energy sector will be a huge asset to our board, as we head into our next phase of construction and take on new funding in 2025,” says Matt Shanks, Lightyears co-founder and director.
“She has a deep understanding of the sector and the challenges and opportunities, and a true passion for renewable energy. We’re really excited to have her expertise and guidance available to us as a board member as our company evolves.”
