Lightyears welcomes Prime Energy's Matt Kerr to their Board

Lightyears Solar has welcomed the latest addition to its Board, with Matt Kerr, GM of Prime Energy, the most recent member.

Matt brings more than a decade of experience in the electricity retail sector, and has been the General Manager of Prime Energy for six years, and was at Contact Energy prior to that. Prime Energy became a shareholder in Lightyears in 2024.

Matt has seen many changes in the energy industry over the last decade, including the increasing importance of delivering clean and renewable capacity to the grid, the impact of a changing climate, changes to fuel availability, growing environmental considerations and growing demand.

“I love being part of a dynamic industry with an ever-changing landscape of influencing metrics, whilst being intrinsically linked to everyday life,” he says, and is looking forward to providing his expertise to the Board.

“Matt brings invaluable industry insights, including on the broader market dynamics in which Lightyears will operate and will be able to advise on how unfolding events can impact and shape our strategic direction,” says Matt Shanks Lightyears’ development manager and co-founder.
